Reminders: New Coupons, Nielsen Home Scan, & Uniball Pens!

Just a few reminders for ya:

First of all, it's officially February 1st, which means...NEW COUPONS! Yay! I love the beginning of each month, because many of my favorite coupons re-set and brand new ones are released as well! Be sure to go check out what new printable coupons there are! My friend Julie already alerted me to one that will go with the CVS Deals this week, so I'm going to add it in!

Next -- Wanted to let you know that Nielsen Home Scanner is still taking applicants! They are looking for specific zip codes (there is no way to know which ones), so you may or may not be accepted. Only way to know is to try, though! If accepted, I've heard it's a great way to earn some extra "money" from home. I explained the program more in detail here, so be sure to read all about it and apply if it's something that interests you!

Lastly, have you tried to get your free Uniball Pen yet? Don't forget that Uniball is giving away 10,000 FREE pens every day through April 30th! So don't give up on trying. =) The giveaway opens at 1:00 pm EST every day. I would try to grab it around that time, to be sure you're one of the very first people to sign up for the day!

Nielsen Home Scan Is BACK!

Nielsen Home Scan is accepting applications once again! Go HERE to apply.

How does it work? Basically, upon approval of your application, they will send you a scanner. For a specific time period, you will scan everything that you purchase. You then hook it up to a computer once a week, and the data gets sent to Nielsen. It's a way for them to rate consumer products and opinions.

What's in it for you? You earn points for everything you scan! For each submission, you receive a certain amount of points. The longer you are a member, the more points you earn per submission. You can also complete surveys for extra points.

You can then trade in the points for really awesome prizes (jewelry, electronics, toys, and more)! Just a little extra income, kind of like Swag Bucks! You could use it to buy gifts.

I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard it's extremely easy to use, tons of fun for kids (they love the scanning), and the points add up fast! So give it a shot! I just might, too!

Some Things I've Done Lately...That You Should Try!!!

Okay, so I just wanted to pass along the info on some of these really helpful things...I'm kind of wordy. Sorry. But read through this, because it's some helpful information that might help you save a little money for the Holidays!

Yesterday, my husband and I decided to take advantage of the CoinStar machine deal going on right now. So, we grabbed our change bucket and went on up to the coin counting machine around the corner (which I never even knew existed!). It was so simple. We just chose to receive our money in Amazon.com gift cards, and our 9% processing fee was waived! We tried to count out about $80, but went over, so we decided just to make it $90. Haha! So I now have $90 worth of Amazon.com gift cards from cashing in our coins. In addition, I'm going to send in for the extra $10 gift card that CoinStar is offering right now if you choose to receive your cash in gift cards! I won't receive the extra $10 until January, but that's okay! So, go here to see if your have a machine near you, and grab a gift card to use for Christmas! I now have about $200 in Amazon gift cards to use towards Christmas presents this year. The other $110 is from the gift cards that I traded my Swag Bucks in for just recently (another awesome program)!

Speaking of Amazon.com, I just signed up for a free trial memership of Amazon Prime a couple of days ago. Now I usually do not go for this type of thing...where it's a free trial, and then they try to charge your credit card if you forget to cancel. I decided to do this one, though, because once I signed up, there was a place under "my account" where I could check a box that said "Do not renew my memership after the trial period is over." So even if I forget, it will not automatically renew or charge me anything! What's so great about Amazon Prime? You get free TWO DAY shipping on just about everything you buy (must be Amazon Prime eligible, but I've found almost everything to be so far, unless you're buying directly from a user offering a used item). Like I said, I usually don't go for this kind of thing. In this case, it was totally worth it for me, though. Since I'll be buying almost all of my Christmas gifts on Amazon (using my Coin Star and Swag Bucks gift cards) I figured free, quick shipping would be awesome to have in addition to that. Who wants to pay shipping on a free item with gift cards? Not me! In fact, I just bought my sister the greatest birthday gift on Thursday. We're getting together today to celebrate. Since I have Amazon Prime, I was able to get the entire order for free with my gift cards and free shipping...PLUS, it got here yesterday, just in time for today, without having to pay astronomical shipping fees! If you're planning on doing a lot of Amazon shopping over the next month, I think it's definitely worth it to sign up. Just don't forget to check that "don't renew my membership" box under your account once you're signed up!

Last of all, if you haven't signed up for Vocal Point yet, I really recommend that you do! I know I talk about this company constantly, but I do not get reimbursed at all for promoting them. I just really like them, and know that you would highly benefit from being a part of their free program. They send out so many awesome *high value* coupons. Sometimes, I receive coupons to "try a product for free." It really helps save even more on the deals! Just this week, here's what I received from them:

• Del Monte fruit package: 1 jar opener, 1 buy one get one free coupon, and (5) $1/1 coupons!
• Pantene Pro-V package: (1) $2/1 coupon, and (5) $1/1 coupons!

Do you have any loose change lying around in your home? Possibly $40 worth???

If so, head to a local Coinstar machine! (You might be surprised to find one in your area. I had never even heard of them, and I have 2 right around the corner!!) Cash in $40 of coins, choose to receive your money in gift cards, and avoid paying the 9 cent per dollar processing fee!

It gets way better, though. Save your receipt and get a $10 bonus gift card for the retailer that you choose to receive your gift card money for!

I LOVE Amazon.com, simply because you can literally buy anything on there. This would be a great way to buy a few extra Christmas gifts, maybe???

Great News! Pinecone Research is accepting new applicants at the moment! If you're interested in getting paid to fill out surveys, go here to apply. They only open up for new applicants every so often. I personally have not tried it yet, but I'm considering signing up. I've heard it is one of the best survey companies out there, from those who participate.

You get paid $3 a survey, and each survey takes about 15-20 minutes to fill out. They supposedly pay really quickly through paypal or check. So, if you're interested in earning a little extra money, go check it out!

Swag Bucks! Earn money for searching!

I wanted to tell you about one of my newest favorite discoveries!!! It's called Swag Bucks! You might have noticed it in the upper lefthand corner on this page and wondered what it was all about. Well, I'm going to tell you all about it right now...

I was pretty hesitant to jump on the Swag Bucks bandwagon. I saw blog after blog talk about it forever, but I was really skeptical. I finally decided to try it about a month ago. Boy, am I sure wishing that I had joined sooner!!!

This is the best program ever. It is in no way a scam. It's awesome!! Basically, you set Swagbucks as your search engine and get paid in "swagbucks" when you search. It's just like using Google, but it's called Swagbucks. I don't use it all day, but I use it throughout the day so that I can earn for searching. Usually, I'll earn anywhere from 1 to 4 swagbucks a day, depending on how often I search. There are other ways to earn as well, like referring friends, trading in cell phones, following the newsletter, playing Twitter Trivia, following on facebook, and shopping online. Searching is the easiest, though. You just earn a little money for doing what you already normally do every day while you're on the internet. It's so great!

Here's how I make it work for me. Instead of going to bookmarked sites, I type them in Swagbucks and then click on them. It's one little extra step that earns me money in the process. =)

I've been signed up for a little over a month now, and I already have 200 Swagbucks! My favorite prize to cash in for is an Amazon.com giftcard. It only costs 45 swagbucks for a $5 giftcard. That means I almost have a $25 Amazon giftcard! It's great to use as a little extra money to buy Christmas presents, birthday gifts, etc.

So do yourself a favor and go sign up! You'll be glad you did. Trust me!
