Menu Plan Monday!

Why is Menu Planning so important, and how does it affect a grocery budget? If you've been asking yourself what the big deal is about menu planning when I share my menu with you each week, be sure to go visit A Few Short Cuts to check out the guest post I did on menu planning a couple of weeks ago. I think it will help shed some light on this subject for you...

So glad it's the last week of February. I will not blow the March grocery budget in the first week. I must recite that to myself over and over again! This month has been a challenge in planning meals, since I blew all of the grocery budget money at once. We're getting through okay, but I'm glad it's the last week of the month...

Lots of yummy recipes this week, most of them from my new Vegetarian Times magazine!!! Therefore, there is a lack of links. I apologize in advance for that, but you can be sure that if the recipes are great, I will eventually share them with you!

Here's what I have on the menu for this week:

Monday -
Corn Chowder (left over from last week's menu), Buttery Rolls (from Freezer Cooking Session), and Salad

Tuesday -
"Mac n Cheese For Grownups" - spinach pasta bake (from Vegetarian Times magazine)

Wednesday -
Quinoa Salad with Apples, Peas, and Coconut (from Vegetarian Times magazine)

Thursday -
Easy Baked Cabbage Supper and salad

Friday -
Birthday Party for my sister-in-law. Happy birthday, sis!

Saturday -
Vegetable and Cheese Omelets (we'll wing it, but something similar to this)

Sunday -
Cabbage Calzones (from Vegetarian Times magazine)

We do cook Vegetarian (although we eat seafood). To read more about how this affects our budget, check this post out.

As always, feel free to e-mail me if there is a recipe you would like that does not have a link. Also, I tweak the recipes quite a bit from the original. Feel free to e-mail me about that as well, if you have any questions about how I change each recipe to make it a little better (in my opinion)! =)

What About You: Got anything delicious planned for this week? Feel free to share recipes!

Tuesday - Smoked Sausage w/ Garden Vegetable Medley
Wed. - Chicken n Dumplings
Thursday - Breaded Porkchops & Cider Glazed Carrots

Saturday - Sausage Links & Fruit Smoothies for Breakfast & Chicken w/ Mustard Gravy & Lemon Pepper Vegetabls for dinner
Sunday - Breakfast Parfaits & Pancakes, and Chinese Food for dinner (another sports practice)

I'm so glad you've started menu planning! =) It really does make life easier (and your wallet much happier). He He. I love new cookbooks. I'm such a sucker for them! I get a lot from the library, too! Your menu sounds delish!
