Publix Deals (2/4 - 2/10)

If you are new to couponing at Publix, start here. If you're a beginner, be sure to check your store's coupon policy. Florida stores do not double coupons. In other states, check your store for info on whether or not they double coupons. Prices vary slightly from store to store, depending on your area.

Super Bowl Week is always a great one! =] Here are the best deals I see:

Buy One Get One Free Deals:

Best Deal: Use the buy one get one free coupon and the $1/1 Granola coupon. You'll get both boxes for FREE, plus $1 overage, if your store allows it!
***Also, this deal will only work this way if your store is true BOGO. Most Florida stores are. In other states, the BOGO items ring up half price. If your store is not true BOGO, you can still use these same coupons - it just won't be as good a deal).

I did great! my bill was over 200 dollars and I paid oop 74 dollars. Tho I have a confession to make,, I had a breakdown,,, a coupon clippers meltdown if you will....I had 2 coupons sent to me from Colgate for a free toothbrush and free toothpaste. The cashier charged me for them both anyway, and D'oh I didnt figure it out til I got out in the car. I was so upset over $7.17! My husband had to calm me down and get me to see everything I DID save. and not focus on that 7 dollars- I kept telling him that It takes a long time to get all the things together and it really bothered me- Meltown City for me tonight Now, Tho Im realising all the great deals, and let the 7 dollars go :)
Ever have a coupon meltdown? lol, probably not.

just thought Id share

Maria -- YES I've had coupon meltdowns. It happens! Plus, I am NOT an assertive couponer.

If you missed my post about my confession on this a while back, you should definitely read this post: http://frugalfunandfortune.blogspot.com/2009/12/can-i-admit-something.html

You'll know you're not alone once you read that. =)

Also, Publix is AWESOME about giving you your money back. All you had to do was go right back in, show them the receipt, and tell them that you had to FREE item coupons that didn't go through. $7 is $7! They would simply go through the cashier's drawer and pull at the coupons, scan them, and give you your money back. Also, just so you know, any time something rings up wrong, they give you a FULL refund on the item. It's their policy.

I check my receipt after ever transaction, so that if something was missed, I can immediately go to the customer service desk and get my money back...or call a manager to get my coupon value back. (It's better if you do it right away, so that they can find the coupons easier).

Good luck, and don't get down because of your one meltdown. It happens to the best of us couponers!

YOU DID GREAT!

I cannot find the Free Dixie napkins coupon, don't remember seeing it at all and I clip EVERYTHING, ugh!

Do you know if we can use the Save $1 when you buy both as well as the two $.55/1 coupons?? (just wondering since it doesn't say save $1 off napkins when you buy plates or vise versa - it just says save a $1)

Hi Christina - The free napkins coupon might have been regional. I haven't checked my insert yet to see.

Okay, how this basically works is that you can have 1 manufacturer coupon per item.

If you're using the (2) $.55/1 coupons for the plates, then you could use the Target coupon for $1/2 when you buy both. It would attach to the napkins, technically. But then you would not be allowed to use the $.55/1 napkin coupons in addition. Does that make sense?

Let me know if not, and I'll try to explain it better. Or shoot me an e-mail. =)

Ok, so if I'm going to get 2 plates and 2 napkins as you suggested and I have (2)$1/wyb both and 1 each of the $.55/plates, $.55/napkins; I should use one $1/wyb both and then I could use each of the $.55 coupons, correct?

February 8, 2010 at 4:33 PM
Blogger Meagan said...

Yeah, that should work great!

(1) when you buy both
(1) $.55 off napkins
(1) $.55 off plates

Check! =)

These types can be really tricky, and honestly different people will tell you different things (even "pro" couponers).

And honestly, your cashier might let you use all 4 coupons that you have, just because the $1/2 have Target logos. They might consider them competitor coupons, even if they're manufacturers. Some Publix stores are really lenient.

In my eyes, though, what you said is the correct way to go. =)
