Holiday Cookie Swap!!!

I am participating in Amanda's 2009 Holiday Cookie Swap over at her blog, A Few Short Cuts!

I love making cookies. It's one of my favorite desserts to bake. Plus, it can provide lots of fun as something to do with your sister or best friend. =)

I'm a chocolate chip cookie kind of girl. Here is my very favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. I make it all the time, even when it's not Christmas time! I'm addicted!

***Ultimate Double Chocolate Chip Cookies***

Need:
1 1/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
3/4 cup butter (1 1/2 sticks)
2 Tbsp milk
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 large egg
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips*
3/4 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips*
*I always add extra chocolate chips. HeHe!

Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Combine brown sugar, butter, milk, and vanilla in bowl.
3. Beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.
4. Beat egg into creamed mixture.
5. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda in another bowl.
6. Add the dry mixture to the bowl with the creamed mixture.
7. Mix the two together until well blended.
8. Add chocolate chips!
9. Drop onto ungreased cookie sheet by round tablespoonfuls**
10. Bake for about 8-10 minutes (depending on your oven).
11. Cool.
**If you don't have a cookie scoop, it's a wonderful investment! Totally worth it!

Tip: If your oven cooks hot, or you like softer cookies, lower the oven temperature a bit and/or cook for less time. I usually bake mine at about 360 degrees for 7-8 minutes. I love me some soft, chewy cookies! Yummy!
