I actually did get it, but no without some issues, first I went to the one on baymeadows & 9A and the manager told me I couldnt get thing for free, I ask if he didnt get the money from the coupon, he sd that wasnt the point, so I told him thanks and left. While I drove to the other Walgreens I call customer service, they sd somebody will call me back. At the Walgreens on Baymeadows and Southside I got 4 for free, talk to a manager there , he sd no problem. Later I got a call from the first Walgreen the manager there sd that using a bogo coupon on a bogo sale is coupon fraud, that for people like me its that companies go out of business, and their loss and whatever department told them not to take bogo coupons on bogo sales, that the manf will not pay them, and also that they are not to use a manf coupon and a store coupon, I told her ok whatever, I already got my detergent!! can you believe this manager. lesson learned, I'll never go to that walgreens again!!
worked for me!! YAY!
I did it yesterday & like Megan said, I paid $7.08 (includes tax) for 4 bottles of Purex. Which was basically like buying one bottle & getting 3 free. Made them $1.77 per bottle. My target price for detergent is around $1.50 a bottle. So, I wasn't too peeved. Anonymous...you should call Walgreens corporate office.
I dont see this special in my weekly ad? Only the the Purex 3-1 sheets offering a RR when you buy 2. Is it an instore special?
My Walgreens is Purex 3 in 1 also. 2/$9 with $1 RR
Kleenex is BOGO
and they have no idea what I am talking about when I ask about the activity book with coupons.
YAY! I scored SIX Purex for free! At first the cashier (a really NICE man) said I couldnt.) So I went out in the lot, and said - ah Ill give it a shot and go talk to the manager, Who listened to me intently and said okay :) He was very friendly and the cashier was very nice about letting me this time- There was a limit tho, The 6. I had one more coupon and went to the WAGS up the road and tried there, and the Manager was SO rude. I dont understand why they have to be rude at all. A simple " IM sorry Maam I cant do that" Instead I get "There aint no way I am allowing that!" as he walks away from me- I wanted to get some of the Kotex products but they were all cleared out already- Rain check tomorrow if they are still gone.
So stay away from WAGS on University and Beach- Not worth the trouble
Oh and I also scored 3 FREE Imotions sprays that I had them make a raincheck for me- My fiance LOVES picking out candy as "fillers" lol
Just a Heads up- The Sale was NOT advertised in my paper- But it is labelled in the store by the purexes, as well as in a B1G1 Bin in the front. Its like a secret sale lol
Anonymous - That is such a shame. I can not believe the manager would degrade you like that. Even if you weren't using the coupons correctly (which you ARE), the manager of a store has no right to talk to a customer like that. How ridiculous!
It is DEFINITELY not coupon fraud, as I'm sure you know. The bottom line is you are buying 2 detergents, so you can use the manufacturer coupon for buy one get one free!!! You just happen to be using the coupon when Walgreens has it on sale buy one get one free as well. You are a savvy couponer. =)
I just can not believe that manager talked to you that way. I would most DEFINITELY call corporate and explain what happened. For some reason, I have found Walgreens managers to not be educated on coupon policies a lot of the time. Not cool.
Why is it that couponers have to educated everybody at stores on the ethics of couponing? I just don't get it! SO frustrating.
Sounds like we need to get a big list together of the stores to stay away from and the stores that are coupon-friendly. Who's with me!?
This sale was not advertised in the ad, as Maria said. It was mega-saver in-store sale.
So, like I said the other day, I had to pay a little for the detergent. BUT...went to another Walgreens today & got 2 bottles for free. I guess my best advice about Walgreens is find one that you like & stick with it. There are 3 in my area & only 1 that I plan to go back to.
That's the way to do it, Carly! Find a store you like...AND find a cashier you like. =)
