Just For Fun -- The Winter Olympics
Let me just say...paying for those basic channels has been well worth it just for the Olympics!!! I was a gymnast for most of my life, so you would think I'd love the summer Olympics the best. But I am completely *obsessed* with the winter Olympics. Seriously! We have watched them every single night, except for the last three nights (because ice dancing is very boring to me).
I have really enjoyed all of the events, but my favorites have been snowboarding, skiing, and ice skating. Here are some highlights of Olympic moments I have really enjoyed over the past week or so:
- I was so excited for the Chinese couple who won the pairs figure-skating competition. Their story was so heartwarming...
- Evan totally deserved the gold in the men's figure-skating. He worked so hard and had so much dedication. His performance was flawless! And when watching the interview with him afterwards, he seemed to be one of the kindest, most humble, and most grateful Olympic athletes ever.
- I was really happy for Lindsey Vonn in the Ladies' Downhill Skiing. (That downhill skiing is insane. Those athletes completely wipe out and get right back up two seconds later!!)
- Did you hear the story about Alexandre Bilodeau's life, and how his brother with cerebral palsy is his hero? It was so heart-tugging. I was jumping up and down for him when he won the first-ever Canadian Olympic gold medal on home soil.
- And Shaun White??? Wow. He was 5 feet higher than the guy who came in second place. How about that crazy never-seen-before move he pulled out at the last minute? Incredible!

I, too, am completely obsessed with the winter Olympics! I am really far behind on my homework as a result. Oops... My favorite thing to watch is skating and I LOVED ice dancing! lol I love to hear the athletes stories and backgrounds as well.
Nothing is more romantic like Ice dancing. I love to watch and i am not missing any moment of that. But is nice to here that you are fond of other games of winter Olympics.

I've been insanely addicted since the opening ceremonies and have always loved the Olympics. I've been a huge fan of Evan Lysacek for years and was so happy to see him get that well-deserved Gold medal. Honestly, I cannot believe what a poor sport Plushenko has been over not winning the gold medal...he didn't even skate a clean program, get over yourself already! hehe
