Super Savings Saturday!

As you recall from last week, I totally blew it at Walmart and Publix by spending almost triple one week's worth of groceries. As a result, I have to scale back for the rest of February. (Seems like I'm always trying to scale back from our normal budget - proof that life happens, I guess!)

Here is what I bought at Publix this week (pictured above):

1 water (2.5 gallons)
2 boxes Special K
2 packages Kraft shredded cheese
1 gallon milk
4 boxes Knox gelatin
2 boxes Cheez-Its
2 dozen eggs
2 bags Stacy's Pita Chips
2 bottles Glass Pluss
1 International Delight coffee creamer
5 lb bag of potatoes
1 package baby carrots
1 package frozen spinach
1 container Breakstone sour cream
1 package Cauliflower
1 bunch of bananas
1 Philadelphia cream cheese
1 bag of oranges (from a friend's back yard, didn't buy at Publix)

Total Before Sales and Coupons: $64.72
Total saved from sales: $18.54
Manufacturer coupons used: $31.98
Store/Competitor coupons used: $5.00
Total amount saved: $55.52
Total paid after all sales and coupons: $9.20

So I spent $9.20 this week at Publix. I also spent $7.79 at Walgreens and CVS this week. (You can go here to see those trips).

Overall, I spent a total of $16.99 from my grocery budget this week! Not too bad!

February Totals:

1st Week: $97.56 (off to an extremely rough start!)
2nd Week: $16.99

Total spent for month of February so far: $114.55
Total savings for month of February so far: $154.71

Looks like we have about $25 remaining in our grocery budget for the month of February. Here's to hoping we can pull it off...
